Five Western companies to bid for consultancy to study the usage of renewable energy.
Amec Foster Wheeler of the UK, NexantECA of London, Dornier Suntrace of Germany, Technip of France, and Worley Engineering of Australia make up these five companies.
As the report stated, the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company and Kuwait National Petroleum Company asked these firms for bids for "consultancy services" that include feasibility studies and other services related to the use of renewable energy at the facilities owned by them.
It said that sources said the companies wanted to follow the trend of most oil sector companies and switch to clean fuel, mostly solar and wind energy, as well as making hydrogen.
