A report says the BEEAH Headquarters in Sharjah, the first fully AI-integrated building in the Middle East, has just received the OpenBlue Pioneer "Blueprint of the Future" award from Johnson Controls, the global leader for smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings.
The BEEAH headquarters is built to LEED Platinum standards and is aiming for net-zero emissions. A large part of its power needs are met by a solar power plant on-site.
A graywater recycling plant on-site and water-efficient systems for landscaping also make sure that the building uses very little water.
According to the report, BEEAH joins a small group of award winners that use the Johnson Controls OpenBlue suite of connected building solutions to set new standards for smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings in a net-zero age.
Set against the backdrop of the Sharjah desert, the new BEEAH headquarters was designed to look like intersecting sand dunes, blending in with the desert landscape.
The unique building is fully connected to a solution powered by OpenBlue that is based on artificial intelligence (AI) and allows for energy efficiency, easy access and security, and connected building management and employee service systems.
Powered by Johnson Controls' OpenBlue digital technology, the seamless interaction within the building provides personalised experiences for visitors, employees, and management. "A mobile app offers a virtual concierge to order beverages, book meeting rooms, and manage IT requests," said the report.
The rooms automatically change the light and temperature settings to make the people in them as healthy and comfortable as possible. They do this by reacting to movement and remembering what each person likes.
Face recognition and automatic security make it easy for people to move around the building while keeping an eye on their safety.
George Oliver, Chairman and CEO of Johnson Controls, gave the "Blueprint of the Future" award to Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of BEEEAH Group.
"BEEAH Group has set a new standard for sustainable workspaces of the future, especially when it comes to building in a hot, dry climate in a sustainable way."The BEEEAH Headquarters is a famous building that shows how offices should be built in a net-zero world. We congratulate BEAH for showing how powerful the combination of visionary thinking and digital building technology can be in creating spaces that serve people and the planet," said Oliver.
Al Huraimel said, "The building shows how technology can help us move faster towards our sustainability goals. It is powered by next-generation technologies that are integrated with systems that use less energy and water."
"While preserving resources and protecting the environment, the building inspires people inside and out." "We believe the BEEAH Headquarters is the ideal example of the smartly built architecture in tomorrow's sustainable cities, where environmental responsibility and quality of life are paramount," Al Huraimel added.
