Etihad ESCO said in a statement that the main goal of the agreement was to improve cooperation between the two countries in the field of renewable energy.The plant is expected to make 3.79 million kWh of clean energy in its first year of operation. This will cut carbon emissions by 1.37 million kg.
The agreement is in line with national sustainability promotion strategies and further enhances customer experiences, it continued. It was signed by Fahad Ahmed Al Raeesi, the Executive Director of DGW, and Dr. Waleed Alnuaimi, the CEO of Etihad ESCO.
"The agreement reflects our commitment to collaborate with relevant entities that embrace ambitious national objectives and visions and set the groundwork for a green economy," noted Al Raeesi, adding that DGW remained committed to developing a sustainable and integrated service ecosystem that is supported by collaboration with businesses and industries across a range of industries.
Dr. Alnuaimi added that Etihad ESCO was pleased to assist DGW in the construction of a renewable energy plant within its facility, and that it would continue to assist Dubai in its goal of becoming one of the world's most sustainable cities.
He highlighted the group’s support for the usage of renewable energy in accordance with the Dubai Demand Side Management Strategy 2030, according to the report.
"We also applaud DGW's commitment to clean energy practises, which aim to help the organisation follow environmentally responsible paths by facilitating the transition to renewable energy sources and reducing carbon emissions," he added.
