Vice President Of UAE is Set To Boost The Construction & Engineering Sector
The move will see Sheikh Mansour serve alongside Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
In a statement carried by the state news agency Wam, Sheikh Mohamed made the vice presidential appointment with the "approval of the UAE Federal Supreme Council."
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, along with holding a number of key positions in business and with Abu Dhabi’s wealth funds. He has also chaired the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and served on the boards of numerous investment institutions. Most recently, he has led the Emiratization programme as head of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council.
The appointment of Sheikh Mansour as Vice President is significant given his extensive experience and ministerial roles. The report mentions that as chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, he has led a major overhaul with a focus on civic, family, and personal status laws that have effectively separated expatriates from the Sharia-based legal system.
President Sheikh Mohamed has named Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed as Vice President and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, in a series of major appointments.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the President’s eldest son, has overseen many of the emirate’s biggest recent development projects, including the highly successful start-up incubator, Hub71.
Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed serves as National Security Adviser and holds top positions in some of the emirate’s largest state-linked companies. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, also holds several positions in government, sports clubs, and business.
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, has been rapidly developing its infrastructure and transforming its urban landscape in recent years.
The emirate has been investing heavily in its construction and engineering industries, with major projects underway.
According to the report, Sheikh Mansour’s appointment as Vice President is expected to strengthen the UAE’s focus on continuing its growth and development in the construction and engineering industries, which will be instrumental in driving the country’s economic growth and development. The country’s focus on innovation and technology in the construction industry is also expected to increase.
