Growing Green Minds
Louisa McCormack, principal of Ladybird Nursery, says, "At Ladybird Nursery, we believe early learners hold the key to a sustainable future and have the potential to create a powerful ripple effect that will have a lasting impact on our planet.
"By inspiring our children to become sustainable entrepreneurs, we can help build a greener, more sustainable future for all."
Monica Valrani, Montessori director and CEO of Ladybird Nursery, added, "At the heart of our Community Green Team initiative is the recognition that sustainable entrepreneurship is beneficial for the environment and the communities in which we live.
"As the world becomes more environmentally conscious, this presents a huge opportunity for our children to embrace sustainable practises and find innovative ways to address environmental challenges while pursuing their future careers.
"Children are the future of climate conservation, and as educators, it is our duty to cultivate a sense of social responsibility in them towards the environment from an early age."
Ladybird Nursery Al Barsha has launched an organic garden as part of its Mini Chef programme that provides early learners with important skills of cooking, nutrition, food safety, math, science, literacy, and fine motor skills.
The kids will also sell the food they grow to other people in the nursery. This will help kids learn to be entrepreneurs at a young age.
The nursery has also started a recycling challenge for the month of April 2023. The kids will make artworks out of things that have been recycled.
Earth Day on April 18 will be celebrated with fun activities that promote the theme of ‘Protecting the Planet’ across all three campuses. Ladybird Nursery aims to create a sustainable and environmentally conscious future by instilling a sense of social responsibility in children towards the environment from an early age.
