Revving Up Range Anxiety: Audi Defends EVs
The new Electric Vehicle (EV) division in Dubai launched by the luxury automaker has seen significant growth despite consumer fears that their EV may not have adequate battery charge for long journeys.
In the UAE, the electric vehicle market is expected to grow by 30% annually from 2022 to 2028, making it a key strategic focus area for Audi. Lines, who drives an e-tron GT, said drivers can overcome range anxiety by planning their driving differently and charging at home.
The company is also focusing on attracting a broader range of customers with varying mobility needs. In 2023, the Audi Approved Pre-Owned Division announced enhancements including a two-year factory warranty, a first in the premium segment, providing a key factor for those buying a used car. Lines sees the outlook for the region's market as optimistic due to the UAE's progressive environment and solid economic base.
