Ciel: World's Tallest Hotel Nearing Completion
The MEP work in the building's basement, podium floors, and story levels is 80% complete.
Amr Al Bawab, chief construction officer at Ciel, explained that equipment providers for all installed MEP systems will provide detailed operation manuals and periodic maintenance schedules to the hotel's operation team upon handover. During operations, the team will rigorously monitor equipment performance and replace parts as needed.
The building features 12 vertically stacked atrium gardens that have natural ventilation provided by computer-controlled glass louvres, and a "spot cooling" system provides cool air for user comfort.
Ciel has incorporated sustainable and energy-efficient features in its design, such as recycling greywater, fresh air handling units that reduce cooling load, and the utilisation of condensing boilers.
As a super high-rise building, it utilises its height and incorporates a gravity feed distribution system for the domestic cold and hot water supply systems and variable chilled water pumps to optimise the chilled water system's operation while reducing energy consumption.
The First Group's flagship hotel, Ciel, is set to complete construction in Q1 2024.
