A New Southern Sub-Region Emerges In Kuwait
The project includes ten neighbourhood clusters surrounding a central business district and will cover 61.5 sq km in the southern sub-region of Kuwait. It will be home to 280,000 residents and create 145,000 jobs across multiple industries, including construction, medicine, manufacturing, and culture.
The development aims to prioritise sustainability and promote wellbeing through its multi-layered public transport systems and ample green spaces.
Fourteen companies were interested in the project, with Kuwait Arab Contractors ultimately winning the bid. The scope of work includes building, completing, and maintaining the main road works for the city and establishing infrastructure services that include rainwater tanks. The entire project is set to be completed within three years, marking a major milestone in the creation of the South Sabah Al Ahmad Project.
