This comes as a welcome change and could heavily influence green investments across the region.
Speaking at the IPTC 2020 in Riyadh, he further said that the huge saving prompted the UAE to think seriously about using cleaner forms of energy in the long term. The UAE is no longer just an oil producer but also a promoter of green energy and must be recognized for its efforts in the same.
The UAE has 40 international projects helping other countries implement solar and wind projects. The emerging hydrogen market is quickly picking up and the Minister is hopeful that UAE Will own a modest 25 percent of the global hydrogen market share.
“The UAE is bullish about (the) future of green (energies),” the Minister said but stressed the need for investment in fossil fuels with an emphasis on producing low-carbon oil.
