Tadweer Tackles Food Waste Increase During Ramadan
Eng. Ali Al Dhaheri, CEO of Tadweer, said: "As part of our efforts to achieve sustainability in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Tadweer developed a strategic plan to be employed during Ramadan that centres on optimising our operations to manage the expected increase in the amount of waste.
"In doing so, we move a step forward towards achieving our vision of building a sustainable waste management system in the Emirate through the collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of waste in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective way."
The company has deployed additional staff to hotspot areas to ensure increased cleanliness during the month and has added 369 trucks to its fleet.
Additional containers have been placed near mosques and Ramadan tents, and offloading times have been updated to accommodate the requirements of the holy month.
Tadweer is also working with other authorities to raise awareness of the need to adopt proper waste management practises and cut down on waste.
