New Joint Company To Collect And Recycle Waste
The company will provide a new service for vessels transiting the canal, in line with international environmental standards.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Admiral Ossama Rabiee, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority.
The service will support the development of maritime logistics services and the Egyptian economy while also promoting sustainable development and the blue economy.
The Suez Canal is working towards diversifying its income streams and maximising the benefits of its assets and affiliated companies, with the goal of becoming a "Green Canal" by 2030.
The new company's services will include the collection and recycling of waste, establishing a waste recycling plant, and generating electricity and green hydrogen. This partnership represents a new era in Greek-Egyptian bilateral relations, focused on achieving environmental sustainability and investing in cooperation to maintain the Suez Canal's leading position in the maritime industry.
