ABB Company To Power Up Bahrain's EVs
The charging stations will be installed in strategic locations across the Kingdom to encourage and raise awareness among citizens and residents about adopting electric vehicles as part of a sustainable lifestyle.
The move is part of the ministry's efforts to provide the infrastructure for EVs and align with the global shift towards low-carbon mobility solutions. The project will contribute to achieving the national goals announced by the Kingdom at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) to reach zero neutrality by 2060 and reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2035.
The Ministry, in collaboration with the public and private sectors, will prepare an integrated strategy to support sustainable mobility solutions, with a focus on developing policies, regulations, and the infrastructure required for charging electric vehicles.
The initiative is a significant step towards promoting sustainable transportation and reducing carbon emissions in Bahrain.
