ATM: Sustainable Trends and Travel
The 30th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023, opened on May 1, has a strong focus on sustainability as the travel and tourism industry works towards achieving a net-zero target by 2030. With over 2,000 exhibitors from more than 150 countries and an expected 34,000 attendees, exhibitor participation has increased by 27%, with all regions seeing a rise. For the first time in the show’s history, ATM 2023 features a Sustainability Hub dedicated to sustainable travel trends and innovations. Additionally, ATM 2023 will feature the inaugural "ATM Sustainable Stand Award," with the winner announced on the last day of the expo.
Experts will offer insights into sustainable travel trends, responsible tourism, and other industry-critical issues during panel discussions. The ATM Global Stage will feature policymakers in a ministerial debate on how travel can tackle the climate crisis, with attendees discussing the industry’s role in achieving net zero.
Panel discussions will also be hosted on AI, the metaverse, cryptocurrency, and big data and their impact on the travel and tourism industries. Chinese exhibitors and travel professionals are returning to ATM after the country lifted travel restrictions earlier this year, with Southeast Asia and India also present at this year’s event. Regional giant Saudi Arabia will also have a considerable presence at ATM 2023, having registered more international arrivals than any other Arab nation in the first nine months of 2022.
It will hold discussions with experts who will offer insights into sustainable and responsible tourism and other critical insights.
With sustainability at the forefront of ATM 2023, attendees can expect to learn about the latest sustainable travel trends and innovations while also discussing the industry’s role in achieving net zero. The show provides an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to connect, learn from each other, and work towards a more sustainable future for travel and tourism.
