Poland-based Sunreef Yachts has joined hands with RAK Maritime City to build an eco-friendly yacht manufacturing facility in Ras Al Khaimah. The facility will be spread over a 65,000-square-metre area and will incorporate state-of-the-art machinery and robotics to offer a 360-degree approach to yacht manufacturing. It will also be energy-efficient and sustainable, meeting the highest global standards of yacht building. The partnership will help create many new jobs and bring world-class luxury yacht manufacturing to the region.
Sunreef Yachts is known for its innovative approach to yacht manufacturing and has recently entered the ‘zero-emission, sail into the future’ programme. The company's new sustainable Sunreef catamarans come equipped with groundbreaking green tech solutions, including solar panels built into the yacht's entire bodywork, an industry first. The yachts feature 100% electric propulsion, which produces power through a hydro-generation system even while under sail.
The new facility in Ras Al Khaimah will help Sunreef Yachts expand its global reach, strengthen its presence in the Middle East, and establish stronger connections with the Asian and Australian markets. The first units to be produced at the facility will be the hybrid 55 Open Sunreef Power, as well as power and sail yachts ranging from 50 to 70 feet.

The development of the facility is nearing completion, with the first manufacturing and CNC halls due to be fully operational by September 2023. Sunreef Yachts' sustainable catamarans produced in Ras Al Khaimah will elevate eco-responsible yachting to a new level and showcase industry-first technology. The new facility will offer employment opportunities, foster innovation and economic growth, and establish Ras Al Khaimah as a hub for sustainable luxury yacht manufacturing.
