Luxurious And Eco-Friendly Living
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced multiple upcoming developments at this year's Arabian Travel Market (ATM) event. The projects, designed with luxurious and eco-friendly features, aim to attract local and foreign investments and tourists to Sharjah while taking cultural and environmental elements into account.
Shurooq's Sharjah Collection by Mysk, operated under Mysk by Shaza, a hospitality company that focuses on Arabian culture and values, will include unique boutique hotels and eco-retreats. By Q3 2023, the eco-friendly Mysk Al Badayer Retreat with its 15 brand-new luxurious tented structures and swimming pools will be complete. The Mysk Kingfisher Retreat, located on an ecological island off the east coast of Sharjah, will expand with 20 new tents as part of its expansion plan, heeding sustainable practises. The Mysk Al Faya Retreat, a luxury boutique retreat featuring five rooms set in a mountainous and desert landscape, and the Mleiha Archaeological and Eco-Tourism Project are set to offer an enhanced hospitality experience and will have a MAVIA restaurant managed by Shurooq.
The current Mysk Moon Retreat, offering luxurious hospitality in 10 domes with private pools, will have upgrades completed by Q3 2023. The Nomad development, combining luxury with nature, will feature 20 opulent trailers in the Kalba area by Q1 2024.
The Lux* Al Bridi Resort, an African-inspired wildlife sanctuary, will have 35 luxury private tents with amenities and facilities including a gym, spa, and swimming pool. The LUX* Al Jabal Resort, located on the slopes of Al Soueifa Mountain, will have 45 cube-designed hotel units made with indigenous pine as part of a global initiative to promote sustainable, ecological, and non-impactful building practises.
Furthermore, Shurooq unveiled the Khorfakkan Adventure Project in the Eastern Area of Khorfakkan, which will bring together entertainment, sports, leisure, and adventure activities. Shurooq also announced the Al Noor Island project in Khalid Lagoon, The Heart of Sharjah, which aims to restore and revive the city's traditional areas while adding contemporary touches. The Serai Wing, Bait Khalid bin Ibrahim, a pearl merchant's 20th-century family home transformed into a 12-key wing as an extension of the 53-key luxury heritage property, The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah, in the historic Heart of Sharjah district, was also revealed.
