Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has announced the launch of DIFC Living and Innovation Two, a major addition to its Innovation Hub. Currently home to over 600 tech companies, including venture capital firms and educational institutions, the DIFC’s Innovation Hub is the largest innovation community in the region. DIFC Living and Innovation Two will add 170 upscale residences, 144,155 square feet of offices and co-working spaces, and 38,303 square feet of retail space to the hub, with a completion date set for 2025.
The development was designed by LWK + Partners, with the architecture being fully developed in a virtual reality environment to ensure efficient and swift approval processes. The design takes into account climatic constraints in a practical and affordable manner while also incorporating sustainable planning practises. The project will be delivered to LEED standards, the global green building rating system, with environmental impact measurement in place throughout every phase of construction and post-handover.
DIFC Living and Innovation Two represents a significant expansion of the DIFC’s Innovation Hub and reinforces Dubai’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. By adding upscale residences and retail space, the DIFC is creating a vibrant community that encourages collaboration and creativity. The expansion also provides opportunities for growth-stage tech companies to access top-tier office and co-working spaces, as well as educational resources and venture capital.
The DIFC’s Innovation Hub has already established itself as a hub for innovation in the region, and the addition of DIFC Living and Innovation Two will only reinforce that reputation. The focus on sustainability and green building practises is also in line with Dubai’s vision of becoming a sustainable city and demonstrates the region’s commitment to environmentally responsible development. With the completion of DIFC Living and Innovation Two anticipated for 2025, Dubai is set to continue its position as a global leader in innovation and sustainable development.
