Mission To Serve Communities: CEO of Dar Group
Lebanese consultancy firm Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (Shair and Partners) has made a strategic move by acquiring a majority stake in Su-Yapi Engineering & Consulting, one of Turkey's leading engineering consulting firms. With its expertise in delivering a significant proportion of Turkey's dams and a team of 200 professionals, Su-Yapi has established itself as a regional leader in various sectors such as water, wastewater, infrastructure, energy, dams, and hydropower.
This acquisition serves two main purposes for Dar Al-Handasah. Firstly, it aims to strengthen its presence in Turkey and Central Asia, allowing the company to tap into new markets and expand its operations. Secondly, it reinforces Dar Al-Handasah's position as a leader in the Middle East and Africa, particularly in the fields of water resources, dams, and hydropower. By combining their resources and competencies, both companies hope to achieve collaborative growth and pursue ambitious projects together.
Significant Opportunity To Leverage Combined Resources
Talal Shair, the Chairman and CEO of Dar Group, expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, highlighting the shared mission of serving communities and delivering complex projects that create long-term social value. Beshara Wakim, the Director of Operations for Turkey at Dar, emphasised the significant opportunity this partnership presents, enabling them to leverage their combined resources and pursue renewed ambitions.
Sedef Odabasi Erdogan, Chairwoman of Su-Yapi, expressed excitement about joining the Dar family, as both companies share common values and the purpose of progressing together. She highlighted the potential opportunities this transaction brings for the staff, clients, and communities associated with Su-Yapi.
While Su-Yapi will retain its independence and continue operating under its own brand, it will benefit from Dar Group's international network, resources, capabilities, and extensive experience in quality, innovation, reliability, delivery, and customer relationships. This collaboration is expected to enhance Su-Yapi's capabilities and enable it to take on more ambitious projects while expanding its reach within the region.
This acquisition marks an important milestone for both Dar Al-Handasah and Su-Yapi, allowing them to combine their strengths, resources, and expertise to pursue new growth opportunities and deliver impactful projects that will benefit the communities they serve.
