Sustainable Mobility: Serco Chosen As Service Provider By Red Sea Global
Serco, a global service provider, has been chosen by Red Sea Global (RSG) to serve as the managing agent for the comprehensive sustainable mobility services in Saudi Arabia's groundbreaking tourism destination, The Red Sea. Under this contract, Serco will collaborate with RSG's Mobility team to ensure an exceptional net-zero mobility experience for guests visiting The Red Sea. This carbon-neutral destination encompasses over 90 islands, with only 22 of them being developed.
To ensure a seamless luxury experience, the resorts will rely on various eco-friendly modes of transportation, including seaplanes, boats, and buggies, operating on land, water, and air. Serco's involvement marks its first significant transport partnership within a giga-project, following a successful collaboration with Transport Management Services (TMS) Global.

Serco will be responsible for overseeing operations and maintenance, performance management, health and safety, and guest experience across the development. John Pagano, Group CEO at Red Sea Global, emphasized the ambitious mobility requirements of The Red Sea and the significance of their regenerative approach to tourism development. He expressed confidence in Serco's ability to shape seamless experiences for guests while aligning with their values of prioritizing people and the planet.
Phil Malem, CEO at Serco Middle East, expressed excitement about this landmark partnership in Saudi Arabia, stating that it would generate new job opportunities in the Kingdom and contribute to the company's purpose of bringing national visions to life. Serco's expertise in global mobility operations combined with The Red Sea's grand ambitions will create an incredible experience for guests throughout their journey.
The Red Sea is set to welcome its first guests this year, coinciding with the opening of initial hotels and the first phase of the Red Sea International Airport. By 2030, the destination will feature 50 resorts, comprising 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential properties spread across 22 islands and six inland sites. Luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment venues, food and beverage options, and leisure facilities will also be part of this extraordinary development.
With innovative technologies, international best practices, and a focus on customer satisfaction, Saudi Arabia is pushing boundaries through giga-projects like The Red Sea, contributing to the delivery of unforgettable customer experiences.
