NEOM, Saudi Arabia's groundbreaking megaproject, is preparing to unveil its first destination, Sindalah, to the public in 2024. As the project gains momentum, it is accompanied by a distinct and meaningful name and logo, reflecting its futuristic vision and core values.

The name "NEOM" was carefully crafted to capture the essence of the project. It combines the first three letters of the ancient Greek word "neo," meaning new, with the 'M," derived from the initial letter of the Arabic word "Mustaqbal," meaning future. This 'M' also represents Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The name NEOM was chosen unanimously by the board after an extensive selection process that involved evaluating over 2,000 proposed names. After narrowing it down to 150 options and then five finalists, the board settled on NEOM, resonating with its project sectors and fundamental pillars.

The logo of NEOM, divided into five sections, encompasses the project's five key pillars, which are nature, technology, liveability, sustainability, and community. Each section is represented by a unique pattern, symbolising the significance of these pillars in shaping the project's vision and objectives. NEOM's Twitter account recently shared the core values behind the logo, offering insights into the symbolism and philosophy behind its design.

To provide a glimpse into the upcoming destination, NEOM recently partnered with renowned photographers from Getty and Unsplash. This collaboration resulted in the release of over 200 captivating images, showcasing the diverse and breathtaking aspects of the destination. From stunning coastlines to vibrant coral reefs, idyllic islands, and vast deserts, the images provide a sneak peek of what visitors can expect to experience when NEOM opens its doors in 2024.
