Abu Dhabi's LED Road Lighting Project: A Sustainable Partnership
Nojoom, a joint venture between EDF and ENGIE, will finance, supply, install, operate, and maintain over 133,000 LED energy-efficient lights in Abu Dhabi over a 12-year concession period.
The project is set to reduce power consumption by 74%, saving almost 2,400 million kWh of electricity.
The project was procured following Abu Dhabi’s PPP Law and ADIO’s Partnership Projects Guidebook and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Policy.
The successful implementation of the project will contribute significantly to the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategic initiative.
The project is a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, highlighting the success of public-private partnerships in delivering critical infrastructure projects.
