Etihad Airways' Green Milestone Achieved | |

Etihad Airways has reduced its carbon emissions by almost 42% between 2019 and 2022, according to its latest sustainability report.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline's carbon footprint was 5.28 million metric tonnes last year, down from 9.1 million metric tonnes three years earlier.

Etihad was able to lower its carbon emissions per revenue tonne kilometre to 482g, a 26% decrease compared to the 2019 baseline.
"As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and ensuring the sustainability of our operations," Antonoaldo Neves, chief executive of Etihad Aviation Group, said.
"Our sustainability strategy is built on a foundation of collaboration, transparency, and innovation, and we will continue to work with our partners, industry peers, and government agencies to drive positive change and lead the way towards a greener future for aviation."
The airline said it achieved the reductions through in-sector measures, aligning with industry voluntary road maps and frameworks, and collaborating with UAE industrial ecosystems.
