Kowepo Signs Contract For Oman Solar Plant
Kowepo and its French partner EDF-R are working on the Manah 1 project as a part of a larger strategy to build a 1,000 MW solar power plant in the area. The project is set to become the largest solar power plant in Oman once it is completed.
The Manah 2 project will be taken care of by a consortium consisting of Jinko Power from China and Sembcorp from Singapore.
Work on the project is set to begin in November and is due for completion in March 2025.
As part of the agreement, Kowepo will also be in charge of the solar power plant's management and maintenance, and OPWP will definitely buy the electricity it produces over the following 20 years.
