Çalık Enerji And GCCIA Collaborate On Hybrid GIS Project
The project involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of two 90 MVAr shunt reactors to realise the first phase of the electricity transmission line in southern Iraq, with a capacity of 500 MW.
The capacity is expected to reach 1800 MW in future phases of the project.
The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) is responsible for providing the project's financing. The project will prioritise energy efficiency, environmental, and operational health and safety regulations while utilising cutting-edge technology.
The GCCIA is a collaboration of six Gulf countries that aims to interconnect power systems through international cooperation, ensuring power security and economic benefits. Alk Enerji expressed its commitment to maintaining long-lasting cooperation with the GCCIA based on mutual trust and confidence that the project will be beneficial for stakeholders.
