Nama Power Secures $800m Solar Projects | |

Nama Power and Water Procurement Company has announced two agreements worth $800 million with investment consortiums for independent power projects (IPPs) in the wilayat of Manah in Dakhliyah.

The Manah I and Manah II IPPs will have a combined capacity of 1,000 MW, utilising solar photovoltaic technology.
The projects will cover an expansive area of 14.5 million square metres and incorporate over 2 million solar panels.
Manah I Solar IPP will be developed by a consortium comprising EDF Renewables from France and the Korea Western Power Company from South Korea, while Manah II Solar IPP will be led by a consortium involving Sembcorp Utilities from Singapore and Jinko Power Technology from China.
The agreements were formalised during a ceremony where the company also unveiled its rebranded identity as Nama Power and Water Procurement.
The CEO of Nama Power and Water Procurement, Yaqoob Saif al Kiyumi, emphasised the company’s dedication to sustainable development and the promotion of renewable energy in Oman.
The Manah I and Manah II solar projects will be developed in partnership with the private sector, following a build, own, and operate model.
