ENOWA, NEOM’s subsidiary is al set to develop a first-of-its-kind desalination plant that will be powered solely by renewable energy. This first of its kind gigaproject is to take Saudi’s renewable energy fortunes to the next level.
The desalination plant deal is a part of the MoU between ENOWA, ITOCHU, and Veolia; the facility itself will be situated in OXAGON, NEOM’s advanced manufacturing, and innovation city.
Commenting on the MoU, the chief executive officer at ENOWA, Peter Terium, said: “At ENOWA, our vision is to create a sustainable abundance of life’s most essential elements, all in harmony with nature.
“Partnering with global leaders in sustainable water solutions is key to NEOM’s ambition to become a global benchmark for integrated sustainable water systems.”
