The 19-million UAE dirham project ($5 million) will refine and sterilise Hatta dam waters for use in emergencies including disruptions in water transmission and distribution networks from Dubai to Hatta, the utility said in a press statement.
DEWA said the project’s completion rate currently stands at 57 percent.
The UAE Water Security Strategy 2036 aims to ensure sustainable access to water for the common public and is aiming to fulfill its target within time.
The total project cost is Dh19 million. The fully automated units can provide sustainable and safe solutions with high efficiency, using the latest innovative global technologies and sustainable equipment with low carbon emissions.
