Under this agreement, Electrolux is slated to continue to support Egypt’s Vision 2030, which encourages the increased use of renewable energy sources, and environmental sustainability measures. The government is projected to subsidize solar power plants in the future, and it will reduce the company’s consumption by around 17%,” El Hennawy added.
The energy to be generated from the solar power plant will be used in the production of washing machines, refrigerators, Delta electric water heaters, and stoves.
The deal comprises phases, of which the first will include the installation of 1 megawatt in the Delta factory and 0.5 megawatts in the stoves factory, and the second phase will cover the installation of more megawatts.
This project supports Electrolux’s vision to reach zero-carbon emissions from its factories and sites by 2030.
