ADIPEC has formed under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. Industry and governments are working to accomplish energy security and climate goals at the same time, making the energy market and global economy unprecedentedly complicated. The flagship global energy event will involve the worldwide sector in helping address the industry's most pressing problems under the topic of "The Future of Energy: Secure, Affordable and Sustainable" and highlight today's energy demands with fewer emissions and a clean energy future. Fast-tracking decarbonisation of current energy sources while diversifying into future energies will be highlighted at the event. The week before COP27 in Egypt and as the UAE prepares to host COP28, the industry's climate action and Net Zero commitments will be highlighted.
Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy & Infrastructure, said, “ADIPEC reinforces Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s role at the heart of the dialogue on the future of energy. A future where energy must be secure, affordable and sustainable. It also provides and important platform to make the case for a progressive and pragmatic energy transition that is both pro-climate and pro-growth. This year, the global industry must use the event to highlight the action they are taking to meet the world’s energy needs and rapidly decarbonize oil and gas production while investing to diversify into new and cleaner energy sources.”
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, and UAE's Special Envoy for Climate Change, will launch ADIPEC 2022. UNEP will launch its second International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) report, "An Eye on Methane," at the conference. The Oil & Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 will report on methane emission reduction progress in the oil and gas industry. OPEC will release its annual World Oil Outlook which will also highlight and explain the oil industry's many potential challenges and possibilities. It will promote conversation, cooperation, and transparency between OPEC and industry stakeholders. The ADIPEC 2022 Strategic Conference and hydrogen-related seminars will provide strategic and technical insights. Over 350 programmes will include 1200 speakers, including 40 Ministers, CEOs, and policy influencers.
