The annual youth programme, which is held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and which has full support from the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), has grown steadily over the past few years. In conjunction with Abu Dhabi University, Young ADIPEC 2022 welcomed 800 students from 25 different schools.
Abdulmunim Saif Al Kindy, Executive Director, People, Technology and Corporate Support Directorate at ADNOC, said: "ADNOC places a great emphasis on the learning and development of our youth, as they are the nation's greatest asset and are crucial to enabling the UAE's long-term socioeconomic goals.“This year, ADNOC’s stand at Young ADIPEC has helped students enhance their learning, stimulate creative thinking, and provide exposure to state-of-the-art technologies and future careers in the energy sector. We have been excited to welcome students to the stand."
The Energy Zone, sponsored by ADNOC, the Engineering Zone, sponsored by OPTIO, the Cyber Security Zone, sponsored by ARDECO, the Artificial Intelligence Zone, sponsored by ZhenHua Oil, the Technology and Innovation Zone, sponsored by Abu Dhabi University, and the 10th Anniversary Zone of Young ADIPEC will all host series of hands-on workshops for students as part of the Experiential and Edutainment programme of Young ADIPEC 2022.
Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, organizers of ADIPEC 2022 said: “Encouraged by international collaboration, we’ve come a long way in developing Young ADIPEC and are proud to host an expanding number of students. This year, they have benefitted from an increasing diversity of workshops for a hands-on experience that continues to encourage students to explore what the industry has to offer. The wide variety of Talks ensured hundreds of students are exposed to the most important areas of the industry to engage, inspire and empower youth.”
Students were able to ask questions and learn more about ADNOC's youth programmes at the Energy Transition and Road to COP 28 booth during Young ADIPEC. As they left the four interactive exhibition areas—The Energy Transition, Sustainability, the Road to COP28 in the UAE, and Become Involved—they were left with a simple question: "How can I get involved in creating a sustainable future for my neighbourhood, my country, and our planet?" Over 160 countries are represented in ADIPEC 2022, which takes place from October 31st through November 3rd and features 28 national pavilions. The forum's thought leadership is beneficial, and it will help pave the road for an efficient and realistic energy transition.
