This expansion shows 3M's dedication to the UAE and helps further Dubai's aim of being a centre for global innovation and production driven by the UAE's enlightened leadership. U.S. Consul General Meghan Gregonis, TECOM Group PJSC Executive VP for Commercial Leasing Ammar Al Malik, AmCham Dubai Managing Director Cara Nazari, Dubai Science Park Senior VP Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, and senior leaders from 3M, including Gayle Schueller, VP & Chief Sustainability Officer, and Laszlo Svinger, VP & Managing Director, Middle East & Africa, attended the opening ceremony.
The new 3M headquarters features various environmental efforts aimed at lowering the building's carbon footprint and highlighting the company's reputation for cutting-edge research and development. And it provides answers for the future of work by implementing 3M's trust-based strategy, "Work Your Way," which gives workers the flexibility to choose their own hours and decide where and when they do their best work. As part of a three-year agreement signed in 2021, 3M is currently working with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its partner network to drive collective action on climate change, social and environmental responsibility, and the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). Bringing 3M's technologies and innovations closer to its clients in the UAE and the broader region, 3M recently presented its expanded and enhanced innovation centre in conjunction with the opening of its new regional headquarters in Dubai. The newest in speech and AI-powered technologies, such as the 3M M*Modal Fluency Direct, will also be on display at the new innovation centre, all of which is in line with the UAE's goal of becoming the global leader in AI by 2031.
With this comprehensive system, doctors of all specialties will be able to vocally draught, revise, and sign clinical notes all within their patients' electronic health records. The new Dubai headquarters for 3M incorporates a natural green wall that can stand on its own and is fully wired for wireless connectivity, demonstrating the company's ongoing dedication to environmental protection. With the addition of 3M's innovation centre, Dubai Internet City is now home to 16 innovation centres fueled by firms like Visa, MasterCard, Google, and SAP.
