E& joins UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators as the first private sector member

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (UICCA) is a non-governmental organisation that serves as a think tank, advising governments and businesses on climate policy based on scientific data. To help the region transition to a green economy, UICCA will endeavour to build industry coalitions across sectors in order to boost GDP growth, create more jobs, and further establish the United Arab Emirates as a centre for excellence in ESG practises (ESG). UICCA is the first organisation of its kind in the Middle East, bringing together public and corporate sectors, as well as international organisations, universities, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to discuss issues of sustainability. The organization's goal is to push for net-zero energy use in the UAE by 2050 by providing important stakeholders with unbiased counsel, policy research, and recommendations based on data. Included in this will be recommendations on how the United Arab Emirates may take constructive climate action in the run-up to COP28 and beyond in order to reduce the country's exposure to climate-related risks.
