In accordance with the United Nations' (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), STEM Education helps shape the minds of the next generation so that they can effectively tackle the world's most pressing social, economic, environmental, and health problems. The goal of Amideast's many programmes is to provide Egyptian youth with the tools they need to adapt to the demands of the global market, aid in the growth of their country's economy, and promote environmental sustainability through the implementation of novel ideas.
Across the globe and in every industry, sustainability has risen to the top of the priority list. It is the goal of the worldwide aviation sector to produce no net carbon emissions by the year 2050. To fulfil this promise, tomorrow's aerospace industry will be defined and built by the Egyptian youth of today who are taking part in Amideast-Boeing STEM programmes. Kuljit Ghata-Aura, president of Boeing Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa, said, "Our jobs are to develop young talents, equip them with knowledge on sustainability and climate change and associated skills and values, and be open to their unique ideas that will make a difference."
With the funding from Boeing, Amideast will be able to extend its STEM programme in Egypt to include a sustainability-focused entrepreneurship challenge, as well as workshops, STEM speeches, and other in-country engagements.
"Amideast is happy to add this renewed relationship to its portfolio of work helping Egypt's next generation to contribute to and compete on the world arena to find solutions to complex national, regional, and global concerns. Country Director of Amideast/Egypt Shahinaz Ahmed said, "We feel the time is perfect to leverage Egypt's commitment to climate change through expanded STEM education and training among youngsters.
