Group CEO Khaled Al-Huraimel told media that the company is working toward a goal of increasing Sharjah's current rate of landfill trash diversion to 100 percent by 2022.
As part of its goal of zero waste, BEEAH Group in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched the country's first waste-to-energy facility earlier in 2022.
Located in Sharjah, the facility would generate 30 MW of renewable energy, enough to power over 30,000 homes, and prevent over 300,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste from being dumped in landfills annually.
Paper, plastic, tyres, old automobiles, metals, organic waste, building and demolition debris, industrial wastewater, maritime debris, and commercial and industrial trash are all processed at one of the ten recycling facilities.
Al-Huraimel said BEEAH was created in 2007 to address the environmental difficulties the region was facing, including trash.
This organisation is presently concentrating its expansion efforts on the markets of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, where it provides trash management services.
By pursuing additional public and private contracts, BEEAH Group intends to further solidify its status as a regional leader in waste management.
