Borouge's polyolefins produced at its Al Ruways Industrial City petrochemical complex will be shipped out to customers via Etihad Rail, as per the terms of the deal.
Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Adnoc Managing Director and Group Chief Executive, and Chief Executive and Chairman of Borouge, remarked, "This important collaboration between Borouge and Etihad Rail contributes to the growth of Abu Dhabi's industrial sector and will support Borouge's ongoing drive to optimise its logistics platform, lowering both its operating costs and carbon emissions."
With this agreement, the partners' dedication to the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative is highlighted, while Borouge's resilience is bolstered and the export of its Made In UAE products is accelerated through the use of more sustainable means of transport.
Adnoc has 54% ownership, while Borealis holds 36%. According to the statement, the company's collaboration with Etihad Rail contributes to the national In-Country Value initiative by keeping 88% of the value within the country.
