According to the report, the wind farm shall comprise three 500 MW wind power projects owned by three subsidiaries, namely ACWA Power Kungrad Wind 1 LLC FE, ACWA Power Kungrad Wind 2 LLC FE, and ACWA Power Kungrad Wind 3 LLC FE.
Each of the three projects will also incorporate a 100 MWh battery energy storage system.
The value of the agreement is $2.4 billion.
Development, construction, and operation are the project scopes mentioned in the report, with 25 years being the total duration of the project.
According to the report, the Kungrad Windfarm, formerly known as the Karakalpakstan Wind IPP, will be Central Asia's largest single-site wind farm and one of the world's largest.
When it's done, it's expected to cut carbon emissions by 2.4 million tonnes per year and power 1.65 million homes.
