Hussain Al Nowais, who is the chairman of AMEA Power, Ji Xiaoyong, who is the president of POWER CHINA International, Tang Yuhua, who is the deputy general manager of POWER CHINA International and the general manager for the Middle East and North Africa Region, and Yu Feng, who is the president of HDEC International, all spoke at the signing ceremony.
The newly signed project is located approximately 300 km southeast of Cairo, Egypt, and is 8 km away from Ras Ghareb.
According to the report, HDEC started to follow this project and has modified its plan several times to improve it.
Finally, in June 2022, HDEC received a bid-winning notice, which led to contract negotiations. Now, the contract has been signed successfully.
The contractors under this contract include the Egypt branch of POWER CHINA International, HDEC, and HDEC MIDDLE EAST CO. DMCC.
The scope of work is the design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the 500 MW wind farm and booster station, with a contract period of 30 months.
As mentioned in the report, construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2023. The project is the largest wind power project in the MENA region and is also a breakthrough in the layout of our new country market in Egypt.
The report concluded that the project operation bidding and contract negotiation process received strong support from HDEC's leadership and all relevant departments.
