UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that 2023 will be the Year of Sustainability. This comes as the country gets ready to host the COP28 climate summit.

A report says COP28 is set to be held at Expo City Dubai this year from November 30 to December 12.
Sheikh Mohamed said that as the host of COP28, they are committed to fulfilling their role as a global convener and will continue to support action and innovation in the field of sustainability.
"Effective climate action requires a shared vision and collective will," he added.
Key Pillars of COP28
The report elaborated on the main key pillars of the 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28).
which comprise the implementation of climate commitments and pledges, inclusion, working together to take concrete action, and identifying solutions that contribute to overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities to ensure a sustainable future for present and future generations.
The selection of Dubai Expo City as a venue for COP28 builds on the legacy and message of "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" and affirms commitment to the themes of sustainability, opportunity, and mobility while showcasing its advanced and sustainable infrastructure, in line with the UAE’s vision for COP28.
According to the report, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week brought together heads of state, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, senior policymakers, and youths to discuss sustainability initiatives and climate action, which sends across a timely message.
