A report says Moro Hub, a subsidiary of the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Digital DEWA), organised the "Powering a Sustainable Digital Society" forum.
It highlighted the importance of sustainable digital transformation.
According to the report, the forum, held at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, focused on the private and public sectors leveraging the latest technology and applications to deliver innovative digital experiences to meet their sustainability goals.

Mohammad Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub, opened the forum, which was followed by the insightful presentation of Samah AlHajeri, Director of Cooperatives and Strategic Reserve, Ministry of Economy, on sustainability in the digital age.
At the forum, digital leaders from Moro Hub, leading technology experts, industry leaders, and stakeholders from different industries in the UAE came together to talk about the trends that are shaping the new digital reality.
Sean Patrick O'Brien, Head of Public Services and Healthcare at SAP, and Sherif Ghaleb, Head of Industries and Value Advisory, spoke about the next generation of Metaverse, "MEGAVERSE," and its future in the government sector and running a sustainable business in the time of economic challenges, respectively, and highlighted the report.
Joseph Musolino, Customer Advisory Strategic Consultant, and Grozdana Maric, Head of Fraud and Security Intelligence at SAS, spoke about driving digitization with analytics.
According to the report, Bert Vanaken, Chief Executive Officer of WMW, highlighted the importance of the Internet of Things (IoT)—the irreplaceable link for sustainability. Sujit Nair, Director of Cloud and Digital Services at Moro Hub, discussed the Green Data Center and Cloud Services, while Mohammad Almalik, Director of Cyber Defense Services at Moro Hub, shared valuable insights on cyber security in this digital age.
The forum also hosted an insightful panel discussion moderated by Osama Butt, Director at Deloitte Consulting, Middle East, featuring digital leaders from the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Health Authority, ENOC, Dubai Islamic Bank, Dell Technologies, and Huawei.
"They discussed how organisations could drive a sustainable transformation in the new digital economy," said the report.
"Building a digital-first business and running a sustainable digital enterprise are interconnected and do not take place with only heavy investments in the latest technology." "Several critical factors and imperative steps must be considered for an organisation planning to make this shift."
"Most importantly, it requires understanding the key business pillars that can drive the strategy, designing the right innovation models, architecting the right collaboration ecosystem, and identifying the best technology that fits the business strategy," said Bin Sulaiman.
Sulaiman thinks that the forum was an attempt to make these innovation models that can help business organisations include sustainability in their digital-first strategy.
According to the report, leading Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, IT Directors, Chief Application Architects, and others discussed the forum's social-economic-environmental impact with smart cities of the future, green data centres and cloud services, securing information and operational assets in the digital age, and more.
"The last two years have seen accelerated digital transformation across businesses worldwide." This acceleration has sparked a shift in business models from the traditional digital transformation towards a sustainable digital-first move.
Bin Sulaiman concluded that, from enabling innovative and agile business systems to improving customer experience and transforming the business, organisations today realise that moving their business from digitally transforming to running a sustainable digital enterprise is the future.
