2023: Power Week To Simply The Road For COP28 | |

As the UAE warms up to hosting COP28 in Dubai, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s president, has already declared that 2023 will be the "Year of Sustainability."
In fact, for someone who has lived in this region for the last six years, every year seems to be a year of sustainability given the level of related activity.

According to the report, this region is seeing a rush to take action on energy access that has never been seen before. This is needed to meet the needs of a growing population and more industrialization in the future.
This momentum comes at a time when countries in this region are more committed than ever to their obligations toward climate change mitigation and adaptation.
It is a coincidence that comes with the business opportunities that innovation, renewable energies, and energy efficiency solutions represent.
Through swift technology adoption and integration, political will, and an enabling environment for innovation, the UAE has demonstrated its capability to lead the energy transition in this region, according to the report.
From being home to some of the largest utility-scale PV solar projects in the world, the UAE is today leading the way in developing a hydrogen economy as a vital building block to transitioning to low-carbon development.
"It is therefore critical to continue building on this momentum and to quickly address existing gaps in key areas such as innovation, technology deployment, access to finance, and skills development, among others," stated the report.
report said, "Power Week 2023 provides a perfect platform for us to reflect on the path to COP28." Through the co-production of knowledge and the incubation of ideas, speakers will brainstorm on how to guarantee sustainable power access in the Middle East.
"During this year’s Power Week, which takes place on March 21st, we will hear from different panels of high-profile power industry executives and analysts, who will be sharing their insights on the power sector, their expertise, and also highlighting innovations and success stories," the UAE’s president said.
The COP28 president-designate, Dr. Sultan Ahmaed Al Jaber, has indicated that this will be a COP of action.
