Masdar, a pioneer in the sustainable energy industry has signed implementation agreements with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in pursuance of a shared goal that includes clean and renewable energy projects in the country with a combined confirmed capacity of 4,000 megawatts (MW) as an exclusive concession.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has completed 44% of its pumped-storage hydroelectric power station, currently under construction in Hatta, with a production capacity of 250MW, a storage capacity of 1,500 megawatt-hours, and a life span of up to 80 years. The project is considered the first station of its kind in the GCC with investments of up to $386.9mn (AED1.4bn).
