The 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP28 UAE) Presidency has launched a new global program, the "International Youth Climate Delegate Program" (International YCDP), at the "Road to COP28" event held at Expo City Dubai.
The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, President-Designate of COP28 UAE; H.E. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; H.E. Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Development and COP28 Youth Climate Champion; H.E. Mariam Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; and H.E. Razan Al Mubarak, COP28 UAE UN Climate Change High-Level Champion.
Focused on themes including participation, action, voice, and education, ‘Road to COP28’ was a day-long event with a range of activities such as climate-focused workshops, youth circles, youth debates, intergenerational dialogue, and a climate leaders panel, as mentioned in the report.

A report says Miral, the creator of immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi, has joined hands with Emerge for the launch of a 7 MWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) project at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, thus making it the largest rooftop solar project in the UAE capital.
Emerge, a joint venture between Emirati renewable energy company Masdar and French utility group EDF, is also collaborating with Miral on the development of rooftop solar PV systems at its SeaWorld Abu Dhabi theme park, as well as on Yas Island, which is set to open this year, it added.
According to the agreement, Emerge will offer a full turnkey solution, which includes design, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance.
ADQ, an Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), the region’s largest environmental regulator, and Archireef, a climate technology company headquartered in Hong Kong, announced the successful deployment of artificial 3D-printed terracotta-based reef tiles intended to aid coral restoration in the Arabian Gulf off the shore of Abu Dhabi.
The partnership between ADQ and Archireef was announced in November 2022. It funds research and development of eco-engineering solutions for restoring marine biodiversity, using scientific research and the latest technologies in 3D printing, IoT, and AI.
