His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has witnessed the signing of the UAE Government's Net Zero 2050 Charter, said the report.
The charter provides for the development of action plans, policies, and strategies for climate action.
A report says Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), through its 1 Billion Meals initiative, announced its support for the United Nations UNITLIFE Trust Fund which aims to address chronic malnutrition across the globe.
As the region's largest food donation drive, 1 Billion Meals aims to provide food aid to the underprivileged in 50 countries, especially marginalised groups, including children, refugees, displaced persons, and victims of disasters and crises, as highlighted in the report.

A report says Qatar Electricity & Water Company (QEWC) has signed a contract with GE Gas Power (NYSE: GE) to provide upgrades and maintenance services for three 9F gas turbines over a nine-year period.
The units are set up at the Ras Abu Fontas B2 (RAF B2) Cogeneration Plant, which is about 10 kilometres south of the capital, Doha.

A top World Bank official said that the combined GDP of the countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council could be more than $13 trillion by 2050 if the region uses green growth economic strategies well.
Issam Abu Suleiman, regional director of the GCC at the World Bank, noted that the combined GDP of the GCC countries will be $6 trillion if they continue to operate as usual without properly implementing a green growth strategy, according to the report.
The official said last year the combined GCC economy was valued at $2 trillion. "If they (GCC countries) continue business as usual, as they have for the last three or four decades, and grow approximately at an average of 4 percent, the combined economy of the GCC will be $6 trillion. If they go into a green growth strategy that will improve their productivity, then they will go above $13 trillion," Abu Suleiman told the news agency WAM.

Dubai Police have upgraded their Swat fleet by adding a custom-built Ghiath Special Force Vehicle complete with weapon holders and mobile tracking, stated the report.
