According to the report, an initiative to harness the potential of wave energy in the Sultanate of Oman as a clean and sustainable source of electricity has been announced.
The project is being led by a partnership between the Norwegian wave energy company Havkraft AS and the UK consulting firm Translucidus, which has worked in Oman for a long time.
An agreement signed by the two companies will see Translucidus serve as Havkraft’s country representative in Oman.

According to the report, spearheaded by Emirati student Alia Abdulmajeed Hussain Abdulrahim Ahli, the newly launched Sustainability Club at Zayed University is hosting a series of panel discussions and workshops.

The student-led club is supervised by Dr Suzanna Elmassah, who also leads Zayed University’s newly established interdisciplinary undergraduate programmes in sustainability that aim to educate students on the interconnected global challenges and ethical principles of sustainability.
According to the report, the club's first project for 2023, called "Path to COP 28," is meant to give students the knowledge and skills they need to act as student ambassadors at COP28 in the UAE later this year.
In a talk earlier this week, the club discussed the likely impact of the upcoming climate change conference and discussed the smart solutions of the circular economy that can accelerate the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals.

According to the report, Jindal Steel, which operates a direct-reduced iron-electric-arc furnace steel complex in Oman, has devised breakthrough processes that have led to reduced carbon emissions and minimal negative impact on the environment.

A report says companies from the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, and Bahrain signed industrial agreements with an investment value of over $2 billion at the third Higher Committee Meeting of the Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development in Amman on Sunday.
Twelve agreements were signed for nine industrial projects in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, metals, chemicals, and electric vehicles, according to the governmental Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Altogether, the agreements and projects are expected to generate 13,000 job opportunities, as highlighted in the report.
Also, 35 ideas for new projects were sent to the executive committee so that they could be thought about for the future.They were selected from among the 100 private companies that participated in workshops at the event.
Jordan hosted this year’s event, and Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh attended the signing ceremony along with the industrial ministers of each of the four participating countries.
