Honeywell's reputation for delivering long-term smart city solutions in Egypt and the wider Middle East and North Africa area will be bolstered as a result.
By 2030, Saudi Arabia aims to cut, avoid, and remove 278 million tonnes of annual greenhouse gas emissions like carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane, according to its revised NDC. In its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), Saudi Arabia also outlined their comprehensive strategy for reaching this goal. In April, Egyptian entities and the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Masdar, a leading clean energy company, signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) regarding the construction of a green hydrogen production plant in the Southern Cataract Zone (SCZONE) and a second plant on Egypt's Mediterranean coast. By 2030, the group hopes to have built electrolyzers with a capacity of 4 GW, producing as much as 480,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
